Langflow: Platform Redesign
Summary
Langflow had accumulated years of experience debt. The UI was dated, the mental model was inconsistent, and the product no longer reflected the pace or expectations of modern AI development.
In parallel with a brand refresh, I led a full end-to-end redesign of the platform to modernize Langflow quickly and decisively.
I owned the entire product surface. Information architecture, interaction patterns, visual language, and shipped quality.

Before / After
System-level redesign
This release went beyond visual refresh. I rebuilt core platform patterns so Langflow scaled from "powerful but noisy" into a coherent, modern developer tool.
- Established hierarchy and navigation with consistent layouts, clearer entry points, and better signposting across the product.
- Reduced cognitive load through progressive disclosure, cleaner density, and more predictable interaction patterns.
- Made execution feel trustworthy by clarifying what runs, what it costs, and what happened, without forcing users into raw internals.
- Created reusable platform primitives (templates, inputs, model/provider management) that support ongoing iteration, not one-off screens.
Driving Experience Engineering & Craft
I led an Experience Engineering squad, bridging the gap between design intent and production-ready code. By setting uncompromising craft standards and embedding myself directly in the implementation process, I ensured the final product felt like a premium developer tool rather than a technical prototype. This "design-led engineering" approach allowed us to move faster and build with a level of polish that is rare in the OSS space.
Strategic Outcomes
- The Tip of the Spear: Transformed a technically capable but fragmented tool into DataStax's primary growth lever, directly driving top-of-funnel acquisition and Astra DB consumption.
- 10x GitHub Growth: Orchestrated the product evolution that saw Langflow scale from 14k to 144k GitHub stars, signaling a massive shift in market credibility.
- Industry Recognition: The redesign provided the "Enterprise-ready" polish necessary for high-stakes public showcases, including being featured on stage at NVIDIA GTC.

Feedback
I honestly think this is the prettiest thing I've ever seen come out of DataStax yet.
The "Start Building" screen is amazing. Funny how simple, yet beautiful updates like that can be so powerful. It just feels like something I want to dig into.

Amazing guys love new the new interface!!!
Incredibly proud of the design & engineering that's gone into latest edition of Langflow. It's legitimately a revelation.
I'm a sucker for just the little UI things. I say it in the video but the linking points being highlighted and so easy to connect component to component was already a huge improvement in itself. Can't wait to explore and find more improvements.
So proud of the team on this, the UX is gorgeous and it's crazy easy to build agents with this
Nice #announcements, guys. Excited for the new UI, and updates.
